Submitting files electronically.

The Pharos Press offers a variety of electronic materials transmission and processing options, ranging from floppy disks to Internet uploading. All transmission options are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is recommended that first-time customers send a test transmission prior to sending a live file. For customized materials transmission or for answers to questions about electronic materials transmission, contact our Prepress Supervisor at 574-735-0137 ext 224.

FTP Site
We encourage all advertisers to use our FTP site to transmit files free of charge. A Username and Password are required to access the site. To obtain a Username and Password, please call 574-735-0137 ext. 224the first time you use the site. The Usernames and Passwords may change periodically for security purposes. If you ever have trouble clearing security, please call 574-735-0137 ext 224..

E-mail
As an alternative to sending to our FTP site (the preferred transmission), files may be sent to our e-mail address at: bill.baber@pharostribune.com. Always use a file compression program when sending files via e-mail. Files over 6 MB are too large to transmit through our e-mail server.

VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE include the product's name in the text of your e-mail so we can quickly route your transmission. Please note that all materials submitted via e-mail are subject to transfer delays outside of The Pharos Press' control. In addition, files sent via e-mail and FTP can be damaged in transit. The Pharos Press is not responsibile for late, misdirected or damaged materials. Deadlines will be strictly enforced so that we may meet the production schedule of our clients.

Sending Files on Disk
Make sure all disks and disk cases are clearly marked. This will ensure that they are returned in a timely and consistent manner.
   Please include:
Name of sender (Company or Customer)
   Complete return Address
Include a copy of the contents of the disk. This can be accomplished by opening the disk window and selecting "Print Window" from the file menu.
Include a composite copy of the product if black and white and a color proof if the material is full color. A good way to double check your four-color file is to print separations to a laser printer.
Avoid sending a disk that has more than one document on it. If there are multiple documents for multiple run dates on a single disk, put all items in a folder or PDF. Name each document and folder to include the start date.
